Gary Tenison is the corporate Vice President of Strategy & Business Development for TRIUMPH. As such, he is responsible for formulating strategy across the business, including leading the annual strategic review process, formulation of growth plans, customer relationships, capture strategies, and sales and marketing efforts.
Gary joined TRIUMPH in February 2017 and has since established and led a new annual strategic review (ASR) process, the formulation and implementation of a formal capture process, and a more rigorous opportunity review process which has led to a substantial increase in win rates across TRIUMPH.
Gary began his career with Goodrich as an aeronautical engineer, where he conducted research, testing, and development of new de-icing systems for aircraft. He also led the design and construction of the Goodrich Icing Wind Tunnel, and later in his career, as President of Tenison Engineering, designed and built another Icing Wind Tunnel for Cox & Co. in NYC. In 1998 he transitioned to Aeroquip-Vickers, where he led the field sales engineering teams for Aeroquip, which later became the Eaton Aerospace Fluid Conveyance Division, where he grew division revenues by a factor of four over eight years. In 2006, he led the establishment of a “One Eaton” Regional Account Managers team, leading customer relationships and sales for all Eaton Aerospace products including hydraulic power generation, engine driven fuel pumps, and other highly engineered systems solutions. In 2012, he joined Kaman Aerospace as the Vice President of Business Development, leading engineered bearings, structures, and Kaman’s K-Max helicopter business development activities.
Gary received his Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from The Ohio State University and his Executive M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
